Fr. Michael Anthony Martínez, S.J. seeks to become FULLY ALIVE as a Jesuit priest, rapper, filmmaker, philosopher-theologian and poet. A Cuban-American born and raised in Miami, Florida, he joined the Society of Jesus (Caribbean Province) in 2013 called to a life of radical discipleship. After completing graduate studies at Loyola University Chicago in Social Philosophy and Digital Storytelling, he served as a theology teacher & campus minister at his high school alma mater, Belen Jesuit. He concluded his theological studies in the Faculdade Jesuita de Filosofia e Teologia in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and was ordained a transitional deacon in Santa Luzia, Brazil on the vigil of St. Francis Xavier, December 2nd, 2023. After nearly eleven years of Jesuit formation, he was ordained to the ministerial priesthood on June 1st, 2024 at Our Lady of Belen Chapel in Miami, FL. Since his diaconate, Fr. Mike has been missioned to Cuba, collaborating in youth and vocational ministry across the island, and serves at the Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús y San Ignacio de Loyola (also known as “Iglesia de Reina”) in La Habana, Cuba.

This digital ministry is just one small way of living the mission to reveal the “God of the Kingdom” and the “Kingdom of God” already present always and everywhere, if we only learn to see and hear with the Gospel of Jesus Christ (cf. Matthew 13:16).
